The General Overseer of Christ Embassy Church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has explained in a video posted on his official Facebook account that it is not right for Christian men and women to live together while dating because it goes against God's teachings.
According to him, women should not stay in their partner's home if they are not married as this would diminish their worth in their partner's eyes. He explained that it is difficult to resist temptation and immorality while living with someone who has not paid your bride price.
The General Overseer cited Hebrews 13:4, where the Holy Bible says:
"Marriage is honourable for all, and the bed is undefiled; but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."
He asserted that living with someone who has not paid the bride price reduces a woman's value in the eyes of her partner and makes it harder to resist the temptation to commit immoral acts.
Pastor Oyakhilome pointed out that God does not approve of cohabiting before marriage.
